The subject of belly is very popular today. All, men and women are having a goal to have a flat belly, preferably with six pack abs. It is considered healthy, beautiful, sexy and “a must”.
However, let’s look deeper into this and try to approach this differently.
The whole abdomen area for women is a part of body where the most precious and important organs are – ovaries and womb. These organs literally store our vital energy, both for us, women, and for our potential child. If we look back in history, you will hardly ever find anywhere a woman with a flat six-pack. They all have a slightly round belly, soft and feminine.
Belly is our second chakra Swadhistana
Since abdomen is our power center, it is crucial to have it in the healthiest form possible. Surprisingly, the healthiest form is when belly has a little bit of fat, creating this round shape, according to most medical practitioners and doctors. If we look at the body overall, we will see that belly represents the second chakra, a chakra of an even number. All body parts with corresponding chakras of even number (second, fourth, sixth) in woman’s body are mostly protruding (belly, breast, forehead). It is another subject to be shared later, however that is a very meaningful point. With this chakra, Swadhistana, we are manifesting ourselves to the outside world, i.e. “protruding” energetically. It stores energy of creativity, the sexual energy that manifests in any creation, whether it is a piece of art or a child. Having a round tummy is making sure we have some energy left there to be able to manifest ourselves in a healthy creative way.
Belly breathing is essential feminine breathing
Furthermore, the right kind of breathing for women is a deep belly breathing. Only when we breathe with our stomach is when we can stay fully grounded. Breathing with belly is a natural way to breathe; this is how we breathe as babies but then gradually loose this ability, unfortunately. However, when we try to practice belly breathing as adults, we often experience difficulties. As we practice it more often, we regain this ability back. Breathing with lower abdomen draws blood to all our vital organs, and keeps them alive and moving. It is important to have this area flowing and moving as a woman’s womb can decrease and increase in size depending on the day of the cycle.
That is not to say that having an overweight is healthy. Everything should be in moderation and overweight cannot be considered healthy.
I will share later the signs of blocks in the abdomen area and ways on how to release them. We will also talk about what to do and not to do with the belly to keep it healthy and feminine.
Stay tuned, loves. And love you bellies.
