How do you feel about the Moon? Do you feel anything when you see it in the sky? Do you feel any difference in yourself depending on if the Moon is full or new? If yes, great. You are definitely connected to it. If not, it is okay too. Just the observation of the Moon can already be beneficial for you.
Moon is basically your sister, hanging out up in the sky, influencing so many things here on planet Earth. If you think about it, it is actually an integral part of our life, as we are strongly connected to this planet. Especially us, women. It governs so many things moves the oceans, guides animals. I have been a Moon admirer for a very long time now, and as far as I can remember myself, I always find it mesmerizing, when the Moon is in its full beauty. When the sky is clear, I always enjoy watching it. It gives me the sense of peace and serenity almost immediately. And its soft calming light showers me with peace every single time.
Moon Moods
I used to not really relate my moods with the Moon phases and did not pay attention. Until I started to dive deeper into the subject of femininity and feminine sexuality and cycles. I then finally understood how important it is to us. I started tracking how I feel myself with the changing Moon phases and found a pattern. When the Moon is full, I can definitely feel “full” too. I feel like I can do much more than any other days, and sometimes this feeling can be overwhelming. When the Moon is new, I am feeling more empty and clear inside my head. It is like here is my chance for a new beginning. And I can start something new from scratch.
I then found out that Moon phases are directly connected to our own Moon cycle. But that is a different subject that deserves a whole other article. So maybe another time. For now, try to follow Moon phases and see if there is any difference in how you feel. Tracking the Moon is a good thing to do for women not only to find out why you feel how you feel but to get a better understanding about relationships. Let’s take a look at what ancient knowledge of Vedas tells us.
Vedic Perspective
According to Vedas, woman’s beauty is presented on three levels:
Level 1. Physical beauty on the outside. This is our physical appearance.
Level 2. Beauty on the inside. This is a subtle form of the beauty that is connected to our psychic energy.
Level 3. Spiritual beauty. This is the Spirit of a woman, or our Higher Self.
As we age, our physical beauty from the first level can dim. However our subtle beauty usually only grows, and the older we get, the more beautiful we become on this level. This happens mostly if we try to accumulate and take care of this very delicate energy. This is our secret: a woman can get older but stay beautiful and attractive to her man.
In Vedas, there are two main planets that directly affect our beauty: Venus and Moon. Venus activates our physical beauty and sexuality. Moon activates our subtle beauty from the inside and our psychic energy. We use the energy of the planet Venus, or the sexual energy (lower energy), to become pregnant and give birth to a child. This is the main purpose of this energy, and that is also why it is the strongest one. Naturally, it attracts men and ignites passion in them.
Moon energy (upper energy) is the energy of purity, love and friendship. We use this energy in our daily life. Modern women usually neglect this kind of energy, and it is a pity. This is a very nourishing energy for us and we should pay more attention to it. I will share later how we can do it. One of the reasons that we ignore this energy is because no one really told us about it when we were growing up. As a result, our energies in general are out of balance, and we have issues in our personal life and health.
Importance of the Moon
Phases of the Moon are connected with our phases, or cycles. Just the like the Moon, we are cyclic beings and the image of the Moon is basically the image of a woman: it reflects our thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
As an opposition to tender Moon energy of a woman, there is a bright and active Sun energy of a man. Depending on the type of action you perform, you actually fill yourself with either Moon or Sun energy. Let’s take a look at some differences and compare.
Moon (female) energy increases with:
+ Trust
+ Purity
+ Beauty
+ Charity
+ Delegation
+ Partnership
+ Compliments
+ Communication
+ Expressions of love
+ Expressions of care
+ Acceptance of help
+ Stability (rhythm, routine)
Tender Moon energy of the woman is all about love, creativity and acceptance.
Sun (male) energy increases with:
+ Problem solving
+ Goal making
+ Competition
+ Recognition
+ Leadership
+ Dominance
+ Arguments
+ Influence
+ Victories
+ Urgency
+ Money
+ Power
+ Risk
Active male energy of the Sun is about achievement and winning.
As we can see, those are two polar opposite lists when Sun gives us strength, power and confidence to make decisions, while Moon has cool soothing energy and calms our mind.
Now, it does not necessarily mean that women should only do things from Moon energy list, and men should only follow the Sun. Depending on the situation you are in, you can balance both of those energies and see which one you have in excess and which one you lack. However, if a woman follows the actions from the Sun list, her Moon energy dissipates faster, and Sun energy comes in and replaces it. This results in a masculine woman in a female body, with restless mind and anxiety, aggression and diseases.
Balance of Moon and Sun
There is one special thing about us, women. We can fill ourselves with both energies, Moon and Sun, by ourselves. Men, however, can receive Moon energy only from a woman. What does that mean? That means that we are responsible in giving it to them because they need it too. It means that ideally, when man comes back home from “hunting” in the outside world, his only desire is to have rest and dive in to his woman’s soothing cool energy.
That is one of the reasons why it is important for us, ladies, to have it in excess so that we can share. Or at least, to have it at all. If we don’t have it, and we have nothing to share, conflicts become a usual thing in the family, and instead of a loving partner, a woman becomes a rival to her own man. They compete all the time. So being feminine is not only about being pretty in dresses and heels. It is being filled with this beautiful calming subtle energy of the Moon.
So here is what Moon gives us, women:
♥ Calms our mind
♥ Inspires our men to feats
♥ Helps us create an atmosphere
♥ Regulates our hormonal system
♥ Brings up our beauty and charm
♥ Helps us to soothe our family members
♥ Helps with conceiving and childbearing
♥ Gives us self-confidence in a feminine way
If you feel like you might need more Moon energy, or just want to experiment, I will be sharing specific practices in my next article. I will talk about very simple techniques on how to connect with the Moon and synchronize with its phases. I will also be sharing a few recommendations about how to stay in tune with the Moon energy daily.
For now, next time there is a Full Moon, I encourage you to go outside and spend a few minutes one-on-one with the sister Moon. Maybe, you will hear her talking to you 😉
