In my previous article I shared some valuable information about why Moon energy is so very important for women. In this article I will talk about specific practices you can do to increase the amount of feminine, or moon energy, in you. And I will also share some recommendations on how to stay connected with our beautiful silver sister daily. Let’s dive in.
Women are much more connected to the Moon than men. It is a fact and the reason of that is because our feminine nature is as cyclic as the Moon itself. This planet is also considered a female planet so in one way or another, it patronizes and supports us. We only need to now how to tune in with its energies to rip all the benefits. And the fun part is, we can do it easily without any effort simply because it is our right since birth.
Sun and Moon calendars
Moon is a planet that affects all the fluids in our body and all the liquids on planet Earth. It provides us the adaptability of our body and mind, making us more flexible about things in general. The Moon has this beautiful quality of creativity, representing it here on earth. If we are in tune with this flow of creativity, we become constantly content with what we are and what we have. A woman, when filled with Moon energy, emits this soft, lunar vibrations, and in turn naturally attracts active, solar energy of a man.
Since nowadays, the whole modern world, lives according to the Sun calendar, and not the Moon one, it can be a little hard to become in sync with the Moon. However there are some simple but effective practices every modern woman can perform to reconnect to the lunar energy.
First of all, you may simply make a research, as there are many of them out there, and try to feel which practice feels right for you. Pick two-three practices and perform them regularly. By doing so, you will already increase feminine (aka lunar) energy, listening to what your body tells you instead of somebody else. But since we are already here, I will share some of them for you.
Communicating with the Moon
Next time the Moon is out, try to go outside, and look at it for 15 minutes. As you look at it, the Moon light will cocoon your physical and subtle bodies like a liquid honey. It will fill you in and you will feel yourself like a vessel. Try your best to feel united and fulfilled with this magical power of the silver sister. The more you do that, the more your connection and communication with the Moon becomes stronger. Try talking to it, ask for an advice, share your joys and sorrows, be thankful.
I am personally drawn to go outside every time the Moon is out in its full glory. Sometimes I can even feel like it is calling me to go out, if I see some of the light in my bedroom. When I am standing there, right underneath it, it is truly something very special and sacred for me. I feel like I have a meeting with a very old lady friend, and I can share everything I have inside of me to feel better.
Note that, when the Moon is waxing, it is good to ask for some power, or something that needs to be increased, like wealth for example. When the Moon is waning, ask for the help to get rid of something, for instance any negativity in your life.
Moon Water
Pick a glass container and pour some clean water in it. At midnight, leave it outside under the moonlight. This way you will charge your water and make it a real Moon water. After it’s done, you can use it however you wish: you can drink it directly, cook with it, wash your face or put it in your hot tub next time you take a bath. These are two main practices you can start doing today.
Daily Lunar Recommendations
Besides these two, there are many other little rituals to do daily to constantly stay in tune with the Moon. In time, after practicing some or all of them, you will start feeling and seeing positive changes.
1. Look at the Moon.
Try to take a chance as much as you can and look at the moon. Take notice on how it looks every time: is it full, bright, sparkling, waning or waxing?
2. Perform lunar practices.
Pick two or three favorite practices and do them daily or whenever you have some time. You may get yourself a Moon calendar book or brochures, or simply search online or get an app for the phone, where it states shortly which lunar day is today and what is the best thing to do. Even a quick meditation focusing on the Moon will synchronize your energies with the energies of the Moon.
3. Start a Moon journal.
Pick yourself a pretty journal and keep it somewhere close. Right down all the lunar phases in it and track how you feel every day. You can do a quick check in every night at the end of the day on what happened today and how did you feel about it. And see if you can find a pattern from month to month. And you will 🙂
4. Attend Women’s Circle.
All kinds of women’s gathering are extremely beneficial for women. When we get together, we increase our delicate lunar energy a lot. It does not matter what you do at these gatherings, it can be women’s practices, meditations, singing or dancing, even art and crafts. All of them amplify when you do it together with other women. As another benefit, when you spend some long time together with other women of fertile age, the moon cycle of each woman gets in sync as well. This can help regulate your cycle.
5. Compare your own cycle with Moon cycle.
Speaking of cycle, there are many different theories on which lunar day woman should start her cycle. Some say that it should start on the Full moon, or two-three days before or after. And others explain that woman’s cycle should start on New Moon or after, as a sign of cleanse. There is also a theory where depending on when your cycle starts, that would mean which magic is closer to you – white or black/red. The best thing to do here is to track your own cycle and see how it matches the cycle of the Moon. This will be your own personal way of knowing what is right or you.
6. Learn about your Moon sign.
We all know our Sun sign, or zodiac. However, there is also a Moon sign that also affects us a lot. When you learn what your Moon sign is, you will see that a lot of things make more sense to you. What you did not understand about your personality before clear up a little. If the Sun sign is what we want in life, our Moon sign actually tells us what we need in life. In addition, you may try to find out which Moon phase you were born in. This also influences your personality a lot. It is easy to do. Just search for your date of birth + “moon sign”.
Additionally, if you do yoga, you may want to switch or try more soft variations. For instance, Chandra Namaskar, or Moon Salutation. It is much less warming but more cooling, and is excellent to perform for women especially on a certain Moon phase. You may also search for Moon mantras to repeat those once in a while. Examples of Moon mantras are: Om Shrim Som Somaya Namah or Om Som Somaaya Namah.
Whatever you do, make sure you resonate with it!
Good morning, Ksenia! You mentioned walking under the moonlight multiple times as far as I remember. I was wondering if I could do that together with my husband. I do not feel safe to walk alone at night. That is exactly the reason why I asked about it.
Hello Helen! That is a great question! Yes, you can do that with your husband. It will soften him up a little bit and help him connect with his feminine side too, and there is nothing wrong about it. You can also just sit under the moonlight by the window, on the balcony or on a backayrd. Do what feels most comfortable for you ♡
mam..i hav heard full moon time is bad??
Full Moon is heavier time but for women if done right it can be very beneficial.
