Afternoons are perfect for a luxurious, truly regal experience that I want to share with you now – milk bath of the queen Cleopatra. In fact, I just had my own and I cannot express how delightfully delicious and delicate I feel right now. A truly feminine ritual.
I am talking about milk bath of Cleopatra. Some of you may know that it is an absolute bliss that you can have in the comfort of your own bathroom anytime you want. This bath is famous because of Cleopatra who was having these baths regularly and was well-known for her beautiful skin.
I highly recommend doing it when no one is home, which means you can do it when everybody else is already asleep, or when everybody is outside somewhere. And you have at least one hour only for yourself. You can do it once a month, since it does require a little preparation and time, but it’s absolutely worth it.
Recipe for Queen Bath
You will need:
+ 2-3 of fat milk
+ 1 cup of honey
+ favorite essential oils
+ ½ cup of olive or almond oil
+ dried flower petals (optional but preferable)
Warm up the milk and add honey. Let it fully dissolve. Add 10-15 drops of each essential oil (lavender, rose, neroli, ylang ylang, etc.) Add oil. Shake it all up in the jar and while your bath is filling with hot water, pour it out. Before you’re ready to get it, drizzle those petal flowers all over. Soak for 20-30 min.
Since I can guarantee you will be 100% relaxed after this ritual, it is better to do it right before sleep. I also do not recommend reading or doing anything at all, mentally, unless it is some beauty journal or a very light positive reading. You want to relax from head to toes, inside out.
You can add some candles, light music on the background.
My personal recommendation: it is a perfect time to have facial and/or hair mask. The nutrients of masks will penetrate deeper if you are relaxed. Also, as a bonus, I would recommend taking the bath after shaving yourself in all the necessary places. Since you can lightly touch and massage yourself, you’ll love yourself and the bath more when you have smooth, silky skin. The oil in the mixture will make it even softer. You may massage your shoulders, palms and feet.
When you get out, pat yourself dry, lightly. Let the rest of oil and water dry naturally. You can also take a regular shower with soap and put some lotion after that.
Voilà. A true at-home spa for us, beautiful ladies.
