In Vedic tradition clothing has a very special meaning. Each piece of clothing was used as protection in a very specific way to prevent the loss of energy.
Women especially can use clothes as a tool of protection against the energy loss. Her main duty in Vedas is to gather and maintain it in order to nurture her husband and family.
Main energetic points of energy loss
Here is how it works.
Woman’s body has several energetic points where energy can slip away easily if exposed to public or to someone’s eye with bad intentions. Those points are: area from knees to ankle, first chakra Muladhara (main point of the intake of energy from earth), belly button, breasts, back, certain points of neck.
The main and very sacred area is pelvic part, as this part is where we store all the feminine energy, especially the womb. We should protect this part of the body and take care of it with extra attention. It is preferable to wear skirts and dresses for this reason. However, if a woman is wearing pants, it is recommended to cover this area with something loose like a tunic or long beautiful shirt.
Let’s take a closer look at some of those important energetic areas.
Areas of protection for woman: Upper Body
Neck and Back
Lower area of the neck where the spine begins is very important point and also the weakest one. It is highly recommended to cover it with either beautiful jewelry, scarves or clothing. Your own hair is the best protection, so having and wearing long hair (especially braided) is very beneficial for these purposes.
Shoulders and Wrists
These areas are emanating strong sexual and feminine energy. That is why in so many cultures, especially Eastern ones, women always wear many bangles on the wrists, and cover their shoulders. Breast itself has more of a maternal energy, not sexual. So having a reasonable cleavage is not only allowed but recommended to demonstrate health (read: fertility) and beauty. The same goes for belly, lower abdomen, as this is her wealth area. That is also why it is beneficial for a woman to have a little bit of roundness here, a small belly. Which also tells about healthy fertile body.
Areas of protection for woman: Lower Body
Pelvis and Hips
Like mentioned above, it is the most important and sacred area of woman’s body. Simply because that is where her we store our feminine energy, and where we create new life. It should be protected all the time. For this reason tight low rise pants are something that is not recommended at all as a piece of clothing. Jeans and tight pants not only affect all internal reproductive organs, but also draw attention to this area all the time, making the energy slowly going away. They also enhance masculine energy.
Hips are the part of the body that can tell a lot about health of a woman, and can be beautifully presented in dresses and skirts, in a softer, feminine and healthier way. As alternative, we can wear soft flowing or loose pants, without the front zipper, pants that are not skin-tight. Or wearing a tunic on top (like with popular leggings) can help as well.
Knees and Ankles
These points are responsible for the kind and genetics. This is where we store the energy for future generations, that is why instinctively men are so attracted to these points as well. Wearing ankle bracelets is another way of protecting it, by drawing attention to the jewelry and not the body. Knees are something that is not recommended to show often as well. Besides, longer pencil skirts like midi length, look more feminine and stylish in most cases. You may experiment by wearing short and long skirts and trying to feel what energy each they emanate and how it affects you.
Ancient cultures are very wise and we can certainly try to learn a thing or two from them. Almost everything has a special meaning, as they try to live life mindfully, spiritually and for the Higher Good.
Let’s be spiritually beautiful and beautifully spiritual.
