As we approach the end of the year, it is good to clean our space from anything old and unnecessary so that we have an open and welcoming place for something new and good. Just like the cup of tea, you cannot fill it in when it is already full. First, you need to pour out the old tea, then clean it, and only then you can have another cup of tea. And December is the perfect month to do a very thorough house cleaning on many levels, not just physical. I have once written about magical house cleaning and what it does to a woman (only good stuff π and today we will talk about it again but in more depth.
This kind of cleaning is good to perform at the end of every year. And then after that, whenever you feel like doing it. What does it mean? A woman in the house is the house itself. Read that again. When you feel stagnant, that means your house is stagnant. When you feel that something is off inside the house, or you are not eager to come back to it, it needs this special energetic cleaning.
Every part of the house is connected to a woman’s body. If some room is in bad condition, this part of the body will also have some issues. For instance, a South-East part of the house corresponds with femininity and feminine health. And if you have your husband’s office there (like I do), just make sure to keep it not only clean, but also to decorate it as much as possible β some candles, garlands, and anything else that looks pretty. Be an indicator of when it needs to happen. House cleaning for a woman is a therapy.
Today I will not talk about what it does to a woman, but what it does to a house in general and to everyone who lives in it, even pets. Let’s call it something else, something different rather than regular house cleaning. We can call it a Magical Ritual of House Bath, or maybe a Sacred House Cleansing Ceremony. There are three parts to it: getting rid of the old, physical cleaning, and subtle cleaning. So, we start with a physical level and then move on to more subtle levels of house cleaning.
Step 1. Get Rid of the Old
This one is simple, somewhat. You just throw everything out and start fresh! Just kidding. In reality, it is important, to be honest with yourself on this step of our Sacred House Cleansing Ritual and decide which thing stays in your house and which one goes. One way of doing it is to take each object and ask yourself: βDo I want to keep this energy in my house or is it time to replace it with something new and joyful for me?β The more we throw away, donate, give away, gift, the more space we have for something new and exciting.
What needs thorough check-in:
+ Old magazines everywhere
+ Old makeup products
+ Books that you will never read at all or again
+ Broken or chipped dishware
+ Clothes, shoes, and jewelry that you have not worn several seasons
+ Paper stationery (business cards, discount cards, promo codes, calendar, postcards, etc.) that you never used and won’t use
+ Old and worn out towels and bedsheets
+ Old tech stuff β CDs, cassettes, old phones
+ Someones else’s stuff, you should return it to the respective owner
Of course, it probably won’t happen throughout one day. You will need a week or maybe two, and it will be a lot of work. However, you won’t believe the amount of relief you will have once you do it. It can be a tad dangerous because then you might have a second wave and will want to continue throwing things out even the ones you actually need. So stop there and relax before the next step.
If it is hard to get rid of things, just remember that you don’t just let go of physical things but also of the past that you don’t need anymore. And only when the house is not cluttered anymore is when it can protect you properly. You literally create a clean and bright aura of your own house.
Step 2. Physical Cleaning
Now that your house has only the things you both need, it is time to clean it on a physical level. First, do the dry house cleaning β sweep the floors, vacuum corners and couches, take away all the spider webs, and after that thoroughly do the wet house cleaning and mop the floors and clean all of the surfaces.
Important things to pay attention to this step:
!! Make sure to clean all of the windows. We look at the outside world through our windows and let the energy from the outside
!! Wash all of the glass and crystal objects, including all the lamps
!! Take out all of the clothes from drawers and closets and lightly sweep them with a damp cloth
!! Clean and wash in all of the hidden and faraway corners (under the couch, bed, etc.), not only dust but old energy gets stuck in there
It will also take more than one day. If you start getting ready for this kind of house cleaning, pick some weekends or a few days to do that. For example, one weekend we wash all the windows, and the second one we clean the closets.
It is also very important to fix everything that needs fixing. Usually, those are things that are patiently waiting to be glued, hanged, sewn, and that are also getting on your nerves daily ever so lightly. Most of those things need man’s hand. Yes, talk to your man about what needs to be fixed, and even better β make a list, write down all the things, and leave it somewhere so that everyone can see it. This way, no one will forget about it.
Additionally, this general physical cleaning is good to combine with a general laundry day. Wash every single dirty piece of clothing, even the tiniest handkerchief, and you will feel amazing again. You will see how your house is literally sparkly clean from head to toes. Now is a good time to open all the windows and let some fresh air inside.
Step 3. Subtle Cleaning
We have come to the most interesting and most magical part of our house cleaning. If you have kids, you can definitely include them in this step, safely. They usually think they participate in some Hogwarts activity.
First thing first, everyone can perform this stage of cleaning however a woman cannot do that if she is on her period or pregnant. And men cannot do that if they have an open wound and blood is coming out. Like period, open wounds with blood that comes out symbolize the dirt that comes out, so it is counterintuitive to do cleansing when you are in the process of it yourself. So, a few important rules.
Safety Measures
1. Before you begin, make sure to clean yourself β take a good bath or even stay in the sauna for some time, because your body, skin, and hair have to be clean, and you need to be wearing clean clothes. It is best if it is a comfortable outfit with sleeves, that you can roll-up.
2. Another thing before the start β decide what you want to change in your life with this Sacred Ritual of House Cleaning? This ritual or ceremony will take away all of the energetic blockages in the house, release new energy Chi or Prana, and turn the old energy into a good new and active one.
3. Right before the beginning, make sure to put away all the food and drinks in the fridge or pantry because bad energy that will come up will pollute it. Do not leave a glass or a jar of water on the table. Water reads all the energy instantly and soaks it in. So if you drink this water in the end, you will feel tired. And you will want to drink because you are always thirsty when you do this kind of magical house cleaning. So, make sure to hide away your drink in the fridge.
4. Take off all of the metal jewelry. Metal is a great conductor so it accumulates static electricity really well, and we don’t need that at all during our cleaning. The same goes for your clothing β if you have metallic pieces on it, change it. The best materials are linen or cotton. Don’t forget to take off your watches. Also, if possible, take off your glasses.
5. Turn off all of the electronic devices. Do not use any music, and also turn off all of your mobile phones and landline phones. Nothing should distract you from it. To make the negative energy go away easier, crack the door or window open. It will create a passage for the energy to move.
Walking Around the House
Before you begin moving around the house for your magical house cleaning, visualize how do you want it to be, or what results you expect. Imagine your home as a place full of joy, warmth, laughter, sunlight. Even better if you imagine children’s laugh. And, before you start walking, think of the path that you will do: you will start walking for your cleanse clockwise starting from your main door, following every wall, and walk around the perimeter. Close your eyes and do this walk mentally first.
Now, take some simple white salt and make a little white line across all the thresholds. We need to do that so that all the negative that comes out of all the corners would not try to βhideβ in other rooms. It is also very good to light some candles around the whole space. Just make sure they are safely propped and won’t start the fire.
Elemental Ways of House Cleaning
There are several ways to clean your house in a subtle way. They all include various Nature elements β air, water, fire, ether, and earth. Let’s briefly look at them all. You can pick just one, or use a couple or all of them, depending on how much energy you have and what you feel is most effective at this time. Use your wise intuition.
Salt. It is the best tool to use during your cleansing, it cleanses the aura of the house. Especially the salt will have magical properties if a man buys it on Thursday. Don’t ask why, just accept it. Throw it on the floor, especially in the corners, under the dressers and cupboards, beds and rugs. Leave it on and then wipe it off later. Alternatively, you can put some salt in the water and mop floors with it.
Fire. Take a beeswax candle, and starting from the entry door walk around all of the rooms, paying extra attention to dressers and closets, mirrors, dining table, beds, all the corners, windows, and every hard to reach places. While doing that, imagine how all of the energetic dirt burns in the fire. You may add prayer or mantra here, or simply repeat that you are getting rid of everything negative that no longer serves you.
Water. It is best to find some holy water, no matter the religion. Or you can find or make charged water with Moon or Sun (to make this water just leave it under the Sun or Moon for a few hours). Fill a spray bottle with this water and following the same path, spray it all over the house. Pay attention to the same important spots.
Ether. For this stage, we use incenses. And we use them the same way as candles, walking around. The best scents to use are sandalwood and frankincense.
Your imagination. This is when you can just remember that every woman is a witch and do your own rituals and magic that you feel will help in house cleaning. The most important part here is to believe they work and they cleanse. This can be anything from loud dancing and clapping to silent meditation with visualization.
Speaking of clapping. This is actually one of the strongest methods of cleansing that many shamans or magicians use. Instead of clapping, you can also use a Tibetan singing bowl. In this case, a wooden striker symbolizes a masculine Yang energy and a bowl is a feminine Yin energy. Together while creating the beautiful cleansing sounds they symbolize the harmony of connection of man and woman. It harmonizes the room very well. Another tool to use is a bell. It is better to get a new bell with a long handle that does not have any writings on it or anything that represents something else other than spiritual or neutral meaning.
If you do clapping, just a few things to remember. Clapping creates a strong vibration that can kick out all the negativity. So, your claps are a disaster for pesky bad energies. Start the same way, from the entry door, and continue on with your regular path. Make sure to clap every little corner, everything in your house, including beds and couches from all the sides. When at the corner of the house, stand there and raise your hands as high as you can while clapping non-stop, gradually lowering your hands. This way you will cleanse all of the corners. You will even notice that at the beginning clapping will be dull and towards the end, it will get louder and brighter. That means your space gets cleaner.
It is easy to understand the level of pollution in the room with the various degrees of sound dullness from clapping. If a room is full of energetic dirt, it is a very dull almost non-existent sound from clapping. When there is no dirt, there is nothing in the air that would dull the sound so it is louder and cleaner. So, no magic here, just mostly science. You may need to clap more than once in certain areas, and that’s okay. Clap especially a lot around all of the electronic devices. At some point, you’ll start hearing echoes from your clapping. That is a great sign. If there is an echo, that means that the space is clean and light. That also means you did a great job.
The most important step. Once you are done clapping or using a bowl, wash your hands with cold water up until your elbows. That is why you needed clothes with sleeves that you can roll-up. This will wash away all of the energetic dirt that stuck to your hands.
