We have finally come to the very last feminine archetype of them all – the archetype of a Priestess. Another name of this archetype is a “Muse”. This is my most favorite of them all. And by the way, before I forget, there is even a movie with the same exact name where this archetype is presented simply perfectly. I highly recommend it, as I have already done in my previous article.
And if you want a little reminder, we have already talked about these other Oriental Feminine Archetypes: Girl, Lover, Housewife, and Queen. For a woman to be a perfect woman, or as close as she can be in real life, she should be able to combine all of these archetypes and turn them on at the right time.
Without further ado, let’s move on directly to the delicious Priestess.
Element Water – “Priestess”
The state of Priestess is a pure state of Yin energy. This is the most delicious and feminine state, the state of a wise woman. A true Priestess finds pleasure in every moment of her life. She is sensual, understanding, knows how to direct men, and give them the right hints to move in the right direction. This a woman Muse, a woman Goddess, always feminine, always self-sufficient. One of her main qualities is the ability to replenish and restore herself. And it is very important for her because the element of this archetype is Water, and Water balances all other elements and archetypes.
This feminine archetype is about intuition, wisdom, and sensuality.
Everything in our world consists of water, and no one can survive without it. The Element of Water is the beginning of the beginning, the point “zero”, the conception of the life. So essentially water is timeless. And every woman needs water, for her inner cycles and for her inner harmony. Because the time always comes when every woman needs some time just for herself, and so she goes internally to be alone. While she is alone, she is having the most precious, the most important time when she can finally hear herself and just have a complete reset. This is when wisdom and true peace comes.
What She Gives To a Man
This woman is a true factory of happiness for a man, to say the least. Even the toughest and roughest men become more harmonious and tender with her. It is no surprise that men adore a woman in this archetype. So what else does she give him?
This feminine archetype gives a man attention, meaning, a pure depth of being. When a man is with Priestess, he is not just with some joyful girl, he is with a deep wise woman. She gives him energy in so many ways, deeply, she truly restores him and brings him tranquility.
What She Receives From a Man
A Priestess receives a lot of things, I would – everything. The most important one is his desire to always be near her and never leave. Because if a woman is like a source of water, you cannot go far away from this source. She also receives his desire to protect this source at all times, and the attachment on all levels. The wisest women are those who bring the Great Idea into a mundane union.
Balanced Priestess Archetype
Priestess is the deepest, most mysterious archetype. She is magical, enigmatic, and absolutely magical. No wonder that men always drown in this archetype, like ships in the ocean. When a woman is in this feminine archetype, she gives her man a true meaning of life, she gives him her energy that he then uses to conquer the whole material world and bring all the treasures to her feet.
The wisest women are those who bring the Great Idea into a mundane union.
Her main quality is heartfulness. She nourishes his man with her love and he reaches the highest highs because of her. As you can imagine, that requires a lot of her, so the time comes when she needs to be by herself. That is the most precious time for her when she “falls asleep” and dive into herself. And that is where she finds serenity and gets her energy back.
Priestess is very soft, flexible, extremely intuitive, and sensual. She has a constant desire to enrich her inner world, and to turn her space into something beautiful. This woman also knows how to manage all other archetypes, so you could say that Priestess, or Muse, is a master archetype. She can adjust easily to any situation because she is so soft and flexible. And she always tends to unite everything and everyone around her, brings everything to the beginning. She wants to conserve, to keep, to nourish, and to restore.
That is why she understands the information very well, she can analyze very deeply as she understands the very essence of things. So at the same time, she is quite rational. The Water Element helps her establish connections and relationships. She is very good with foreign languages. And she knows how to read the signs from the Universe. She simply enjoys life and follows the flow.
Too Much of a Priestess
If there is too much of this feminine archetype, then we find ourselves in a state of anabiosis. Since this is a Yin state of energy, when there is excess of it, there is an excess of Yin. That is somewhat of a self-absorbed state when a woman feels good in her own little world and does not need anyone or anything else. And not only that, she does not want to let anyone in this world.
So stagnation happens – it is all the same, nothing changes, and eventually a depression may happen. So if you feel like you are too deep in a Priestess archetype the remedy is to go back to the Lover archetype. That is where there is fire, celebration, life, men, sexy lingerie, and sexual desires. All of the things that help you stay more active, as all those things have Yang energy.
Lack of a Priestess
When we lack the Priestess archetype, we cannot truly attach a man on a deep level and in the right way. In this case, it is important to know to immerse yourself into yourself. All feminine practices are basically about that – they direct us unto ourselves and inside of ourselves. All of the cleansing practices and rituals, the release of the past, internal purification are about that. One of the most effective practices is called “Days of Silence” (a variation of Vipassana). You can either find the right time astrologically, or according to the Moon phase, or just pick a week. And then live this whole time in the feminine archetype of a Priestess when you pause your life.
You simply do not push or rush things that week. You just carry your plans inside of you, like a baby, so that they grow ripe. And they will become ripe because of your energy, your special deep inner energy. You bathe yourself in this total silence and peace, where eventually you start hearing answers to all of your questions, all of your difficulties and puzzles. That is when the intuition comes out – in a total silence and calmness, when you can finally speak to Gods. When we are in any other state of mind, we are busy or thinking or reacting to everything around us, it сlogs up our attention with someone else’s answers to our own personal questions.
Try to stay in this silence and with this silence as long as possible. Try to listen less, to watch less, to communicate less. Stop stimulating the space around you. Your plans should just become ripe like an apple and fall from the tree, on its own, right in your hands. This is a very intriguing state. At some point, you will feel that this silence cleanses you, and improves your internal receptivity. Try to stay a week with yourself, with your intuition, with your understanding of this world. Just let go of control. There is nothing more important than you and your existence.
That is truly feminine – it just comes on its own, it just happens.
How to Find Your Priestess
Once you learn how to grow this internal silence, this ability to not stimulate or enable, to not initiate the space around you, and simply wait, you will receive things from this space, without any fight, without any aggression. That is truly feminine – it just comes on its own, it just happens. But that happens only when our feminine archetype of a Priestess is strong and balanced.
And here are a few more things to do to help you with that:
❦ Learn to consciously work on qualities that are described in this article, one by one.
❦ Stop running, just stop. Relax and feel yourself, what do you really want? What is it you truly wish for? What does your inner voice tell you? Just be with yourself.
❦ Wear more dresses and skirts. This is the MOST important part of this Priestess energy. Have you ever seen a Priestess in jeans? Quit pants. Only dresses, mysterious and delicious dresses and skirts, comfortable, long, sensual, and not higher than your knees (again, think priestess at the temple).
❦ Buy yourself some pearls. This is the truest Water element jewelry, and that is the element we are working on.
❦ Drink as much water as you can. And also, just interact with it a lot.
❦ Learn how to forgive and let go of all grievances, and cry them away.
❦ Dance, a lot. Any dance would do but the most delicious and feminine dance that represents this archetype is Mandala Dance (it is not presented in the English speaking countries yet, but it is in my plans to change that 😉 ).
Just be careful and do not get excess of this feminine archetype as it can be very powerful. If there is too much of it, there can be too much selfishness and self-sufficiency. And then there is danger to stay alone all the time. Simply remember the main rule of Priestess – be yourself, unconditionally love yourself and accept yourself fully.
