When we talk about woman’s power and think about strong women who can do all the things on her own, somehow this image is not really associated with femininity, is it? It is because we need to learn to distinguish social power, physical power and woman’s power.
Woman’s power has nothing to do with social success, active involvement and achievements. Woman’s power is a certain special state of fluidity, softness, passiveness, slowness. It can be hard to be in this state all the time however these are the sources of feminine inspiration for a woman.
This is why all kinds of beauty procedures and spas, bath time, slow walks and simple conversations with girlfriends can be so rejuvenating and refreshing for women. These are all the things that do not involve any sort of active doing. It is in fact about non-doing, it is about taking a break and pause from everything. It is about being present in your body and in the moment of here and now. So if you are depleted and exhausted, just stop running. Stop hustling. Take a break. Exhale. Get a massage. And don’t scold yourself for doing nothing.
What is woman’s power?
The real woman’s power, or power of femininity, is somewhere deeper within. We can manifest it in so many different ways. This is a state of inner balance, steadiness, a feeling of your own body, a feeling of the flow of life. It is a state of calmness, of connection with the Earth and with the Divine. It is the a special energy that we call femininity.
If a woman follows this feminine flow, everything just falls into place naturally in her life. If she feels it, she is calm, she knows she is on the right path, and this is when she can share her inspiration with others and her man. In fact, this is when she can inspire every man in her life. Just by being herself, with her presence and her connection to herself, or with her kind word or deed she can help and support a man. She can nourish him with power and energy, even without being in relationships with him.
It is very hard for modern women to understand this concept, of power within passivity, because this tradition is not being passed on from generation to generation anymore. Our ancestors knew about it. In many different cultures this tradition of being a woman was passed from mothers to daughters. This woman’s power was very highly respected, it was protected and cherished. Today, this knowledge is almost completely lost.
Sources of feminine power
There are two ways to get this power: internal and external. And you can get there from either one, i.e. to your internal power from your external and vice versa. Examples of external to internal would be all those spa rituals I mentioned earlier, or being in nature, or getting pretty clothes. They all work. And there is another way, going from internal to external. This is when you go deep within yourself, get in contact with yourself, get to know your feminine self more. This second way has one big advantage – no matter the circumstances and the outside world, it will lead you to where you want to be.
So, since this last way of finding your power seems to be more steady, how do we do it? Usually, there are two options: connection with your female ancestry and connection with your own sacral center.
Δ If a woman wants to connect with her female ancestry, or women of her family tree and her ancestors, and if she wants to discover her feminine power, to improve her personal life, she needs to learn about her mother’s side of family. She needs to closely look at all the relationships on her mother’s family line. Did the mother respect grandmother? What was their relationship to each other? What was their relationship to other family members in your ancestry? Was a woman allowed to be weak, helpless and to cry sometimes? Was she allowed to be emotional or she was only able to stay strong like a man? Does she respect her own mother, grandmother and does she show her gratitude to them?
If there is any disconnection or issue in this area, we need to address and heal it. There are many various methods, techniques and practices to do this. As long as you decide to dedicate time and energy to go there, explore and restore, it will seriously improve your life, as a woman. If you are disconnected from your female ancestry line, your energy does not flow freely. This usually causes many issues with relationships, with your health, with yourself and just with any men in life in general.
Δ Another option would be to get in touch with your sacral center inside of you. Which means to get in touch with your own body, with you female organs. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of women who does not really know much about their own body or health. If you don’t know how it all works inside of you, it would be good to start learning about it. Especially, if you have any sort of health issues in your pelvic area. Because there may be not only physiological reasons, but also emotional and psychological: energy blockages from hurt, fears and just incorrect perception and ideas.
One of the most simple but effective practices every woman can do is to perform the Ovaries Breathing or Womb Breathing. These two practices can help get in touch with your own female body, with your female energy and to clear and heal your feminine essence.
The reason why it is so important is because when a woman is in contact with that part of herself, it is easier for her to act and make decisions from within her feminine power, like a true woman. It is easier for her to develop her sensuality and sexuality in a healthy way. It does not mean you don’t have to do doctor’s exams regularly but doing those simple practices will start the healing deep within. Any other female practices would help too, as long as you bring energy with your attention to that area. Even if you just do it daily for a few minutes and pay attention to your organs, your feminine energy there will become alive.
You can simply say how grateful you are to have them and for their work. Or you can also imagine how pink and golden light washes them and takes away all the impurities down to the earth, together with all the diseases. You can also simply breath into your uterus, and monitor your bodily sensations. The key thing here is your attention. When your uterus is healthy, it affects your whole body and makes it healthy as well. It heals your energetic body and makes the energy flow freely through all your subtle channels.
A few things to remember
Get ready to work
When you start practicing, you will start increasing your energy. It is inevitable. When this happens, it will bring some events in your life that may not always be pleasant. This means that your energetic work stirs up all the “dirt” from the bottom and makes it come to the surface. If you were successfully hiding or ignoring something, it will come up. And you have to be ready. It is important to remember why this happens, and to stay connected with it. It is important to not run away again but to face it. If you are successful in it, it will be a huge step towards your authentic femininity. Your body will release blockages, which can be hard, but totally worth all the inconvenience. Let it liberate itself.
Moderation is always the key
It is very important to not become a fanatic of practices. It is good to do them but everything should still stay in moderation. Listen to your body, and follow your sensations. Stay calm and present, and keep your attention steadily with your body. It is better to just do a little bit of it but regularly, then do a lot and then avoid doing it at all for long periods of time. If you overdo, you will end up having even more blockages and pain in your body. It is ideal to perform practices with an instructor.
Learn Moon Cycles
Moon cycles and female physiological cycles are very tightly connected. You will learn a lot of things if you start monitoring those two cycles together. Once you are in tune with the Moon, you will be able to regulate your cycle and adjust it as needed. It is easy to do it if you follow Lunar calendar and try to plan accordingly, i.e. not be too active during Waning Moon, and to plan a new project on a New Moon. Another way to connect with the Moon is to perform Moon meditations, or simply try to communicate with the Moon whenever you see it in the sky.
Relationships with Menstruation
What is it? Get to know your menses more. This is the time of your woman’s power too. As this is a very deep and powerful cleansing, when your blood purifies and you connect with your female rhythms and deep feminine energies. This is why it is best to not do anything during first 1-3 days of menstruation, but only do what you really want to do (and usually it is literally nothing, there is a huge internal work going on). It will also help you get in touch with your feminine nature, and will regulate your rhythm for the next month.
It is understandable that not all modern women can fully accept themselves during this time of the month. Often times it comes from the childhood and their own mothers, who were also not fully aware. Whatever a little girl learned about her nature and her female organs in her childhood will affect her in the adult life. First experience of your menstruation is extremely important and influencing. So if that is the case, it would be very good to change this attitude and ideas about your own cycle now, when you are aware of its importance and sacredness. This will in turn change the way your pregnancy and labor happens, as well as conception.
It is really not that hard to pay more attention to your own beauty and health. This is where our true feminine power lays, our feminine essence. Once you start learning more about it, I guarantee you, the world will start changing.
