Grounding is a term you must have heard several times lately. And we can usually see this term in various spiritual practices and healing. What does it really mean? To be grounded means to be aware of your body and your location in space and time, to be fully present here and now. By grounding ourselves we can finally see our life the way it is, in all its beauty. This allows us to love not just generally the world but specifically the people that are near us in life, and our space where we live.
Mother Earth and Grounding
To be grounded is to be strongly connected with Mother Earth. Connection with the Earth is important for everyone since Earth energies are responsible and help us with stability and abundance in life. And it is especially important for women. The value of this kind of connection has been around for many centuries. There is always some sort of way or ritual to be thankful to Mother Earth in every culture.
Earth energy helps us build our inner core, it helps remove fear, anxiety, worries, and brings back our confidence. And Earth is the base of all, it is the keeper of wisdom. Earth is our connection with the source and ancestors so it is truly like a chest full of treasures of power.
For a woman, it is so much important to receive support from Mother Earth not only because this Nature element has feminine and maternal energies, but also because in any relationship it is a woman who shares and gives out her energy. When we are grounded, we love our bodies. And other people can feel it as they want to touch, kiss, and caress us. Men want to carry us in their arms.
If a woman is grounded, she can truly create her own life. She can create a space around her that is full of love, and it will attract all of the goodness and wealth of the world.
Typical Grounded Woman
Here is how a typical grounded woman who has a strong connection with the Earth would look like:
ꕥ She is calm and stable.
ꕥ She is full of energy and health.
ꕥ She knows her value.
ꕥ She is sexual, desirable. Men always want to touch her, to feel her skin and body, to care for her like a jewel.
ꕥ She accepts sex as an important part of life.
ꕥ She loves her body deeply, respects and takes care of it, fully accepting it.
ꕥ Her space is full of positive energy, clean and everything is always in order there.
ꕥ She found her wisdom.
ꕥ She is the master of her life.
Unfortunately, nowadays many women lost this connection with Earth. By engaging in spiritual practices, we disconnect from Earth and go up in the clouds, planning, and dreaming, forgetting about the present. It is a good idea to grow and be busy with self-development. But it is hard to reach the heights without the proper foundation, which is – accepting your day-to-day life, your responsibilities, and staying connected with the earth. In fact, it is hard to make any dream come true if we are not grounded.
How To Restore Our Earth Connection
There are many ways you can do to restore your connection with Mother Earth and to keep it that way. Here are some of the grounding techniques, and I encourage you to experiment and look for even more.
❁ Any practices where we as women work with our lower belly, lower chakras (first chakra and second chakra), and our womb.
❁ Walking barefoot.
❁ Wearing long skirts and dresses (it helps us gather the energy from the Earth and directs it inside our body)
❁ Gardening and working with house plants.
❁ Hot baths with salt and herbs.
Experiment with various practices of grounding and see which ones bring you back from the sky down to earth, from your head down to your body. For me, it is dancing, stretching, walking barefoot, smelling and touching plants, flowers and trees, touching the water of rivers and ponds. Salt scrubs during hot baths are always a wonderful way to connect with Earth element.
At any given moment during the day, when you remember and have a free minute, imagine how a warm, alive and honey-like energy goes upwards from the Earth to your legs and into your womb. When you don’t feel good, just go down to your floor in a house or apartment, sit or lay down and ask Mother Earth to take away all the negativity from you, and fill you with power, confidence, and health instead. Don’t forget to say thank you to Earth for taking it all in and recycling it for a better good. Don’t be afraid to talk to Earth and be grateful. The more you do it, the stronger your connection with it and the more grounded you are. And when that happens, you will become a true master of your life!
